Hamon Haven Wine Varieties
- Catawba --
The Catawba is an American cultivar best known to exhibit mango and tropical characteristics. The grape is used to make a blush, fragrant wine with strawberry-like flavors. The wine goes well with Swiss cheese, dessert and fruit.
- Seyval Blanc --
This grape produces a white wine with vibrant fruit flavors, reminiscent of pears and citrus fruit. This full-bodied wine is well balanced, semi-dry and fills the palate with apricots, supported by a citrus background. Seyval pairs well with hard cheese, and herb-seasoned or barbecued poultry, light fish, pork, and Asian cuisines.
- Chambourcin --
This French/American hybrid produces red wines of light to medium body with fruity aromas. It exhibits cherry and earthy/spicy complexities. Chambourcin goes well with barbecue, pork, and grilled dishes.
- Blackberry --
This common fruit contains vast amounts of anthocyanocides, which are powerful antioxidants that help to reverse cell damage caused by free radicals, and are reported to be instrumental in preventing heart disease, cancer and strokes. This wine maintains the distinct blackberry flavor, slightly sweet and full bodied, pairing well with desserts, chocolate, or enjoyed by itself as an aperitif. — Low Stock
- Chardonnay --
A light, crisp, fresh white wine. Semi dry with hints of apple, pear and citrus flavors. Goes well with seafood and light meat dishes.
- Savignon Blanc --
A white semi sweet wine characterized by a light, crisp acidity. It will often contain several fruit components. — Wine of the Month
- June's Blend --
A lighter sweeter red blend of Concord and Niagara wine to maintain the American varieties natural flavors.
- Merlot --
A dry red wine with low acidity and mellow softness. It has has rich flavors of blackberry, plum and cherry.
- Zinthiana --
A red varietal that is a hybrid of Zinfandel and Norton (Cynthiana) grapes. It combines the best of both varieties to make it a pleasant medium bodied wine. — Low Stock
- Diamond --
Also known as Moore's Diamond, is a white semi sweet wine. It has hints of its concord parent and is made medium bodied.
- Niagara --
A white semi sweet wine with a pleasant "foxy" aroma and undertones of candied lemon rinds. — Low Stock
